Hi everyone! My name is Mrs. B and I teach 3rd grade Reading and Language Arts. I LOVE my job! We learn so many interesting things in 3rd grade. When I'm not teaching I like to go to sporting events and hang out with my family. We are going to have a great year!

Stone Soup

Hi students!  This week we are going to begin learning about procedural text (or following directions/recipes) to get something done.  The story we are going to read is a fictional story called Stone Soup.  In this story people follow a soup recipe to create a nice pot of soup.  Throughout the following weeks we will be looking at lots of recipes and other directions to make sure we are following them carefully.  I know many of you have some experience following recipes and we ALL have experience following some kind of directions. 
Here's my question........

What is a food that you have followed a recipe to make OR what is something you have followed directions to put together/build/create?

    I will start......Something that I always follow directions to create is Virginia's Easy Lasagne that is on the back of lasagne noodle boxes (Skinner brand). I cut the recipe off of the noodle box and I always get it out and follow it when I make lasagne. It is the best kind of lasagne that I've had and it's EASY to make! YUM!! :)

    It's always important to follow directions. Here are some examples: I carefully read the directions on any medicine that I have to give my daughters. We always follow the directions when we bake our chocolate chip cookies from scratch.
    By the way...You all did a superb job following my unspoken directions when we made our clocks!

    I always make brownies with mom for birthdays and partys.Lots of people like the brownies.We always follow the instructions.

    I have made brownies with my mom.And cupcakes with my grandma.They both come out good becausewe followed the directoins.

    I made cookies before w/my dad and my sister before.I made chocolate chip cookies.I did it one night.It tasted good w/milk.We all ate cookies w/milk.

    I have made cookies with my we had to follow instructions so we could make them right.I've made a cake it was cheesecake with fudge in the middle.I've made cookies with a choclate chip in the middle and with choclate melted chips and also white choclate chips.

    One time I made rice.
    First I got two cups of rice.
    Then Iput It in the ricecooker.
    and got two and a half coups of water.
    And then put the water in the ricecooker.
    And set it for cook and plugged it in cl

    Mom and and we are going to make cookies to.
    I cannot wait togo home it's going to be fun
